What is the weight and age range for the Ergobaby Omni Lite?

The Omni Lite is designed for babies from 3.2kg to 15.9kg, roughly newborn through to 24 months, though every baby grows at a different rate so weight is the more reliable guide than age. There's no separate infant insert to buy — the adjustable bucket seat is built to support baby correctly across this whole range, narrowing for a newborn and widening as they grow. Once baby approaches the upper weight limit, it's worth checking how the carrier feels for extended wear; some families move to a carrier with more back-support positions, like the Omni Classic, as their toddler gets heavier

Will the Ergobaby Omni Lite fit both parents if we're different sizes?

Yes — this is one of the carrier's specific goals. The cross-back straps and adjustable waistband and panel are built to fit a wide range of body types, from petite through to 4XL, so the same carrier can usually be shared between two caregivers of quite different builds without needing separate carriers. Each adjustment point (waistband, shoulder straps, panel height) can be reset in a few seconds when handing the carrier between wearers, which is part of why the Omni Lite is positioned as an easy, quick-adjust everyday option.

Is the Ergobaby Omni Lite worth it compared to a cheaper baby carrier?

The main difference between the Omni Lite and budget carriers is the ergonomics: the adjustable bucket seat is designed to support baby's hips in the recommended "M" position from birth, a feature that's been independently recognised as hip-healthy by the International Hip Dysplasia Institute. Many cheaper carriers use a narrower, unadjustable seat that doesn't offer the same support as baby grows, or only fit a narrow weight range before needing to be replaced. The Omni Lite is positioned as Ergobaby's more accessible everyday carrier — you're paying for the ergonomic engineering and adjustability, not extra positions or storage features, which is what separates it from the pricier Omni Classic and Omni Deluxe.

Does the Ergobaby Omni Lite come with a sun hood or storage pockets?

Not built in — the Omni Lite is intentionally streamlined, without the attached privacy hood or storage pouch that come standard on some other Ergobaby carriers. Optional accessories, including a privacy hood, drool bib, and carrier cover, are available separately if you want to add sun or weather protection, without paying for them as part of the base carrier.
